Funeral services for Willie Mae Fields Caldwell, of Tyler are scheduled for Saturday, June 9, 2018 11:00 AM at Greater Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. J. L. Preston eulogist. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery Swan under the direction of Brooks Sterling and Garrett Funeral Directors.
Willie Mae Fields was born to Ezra and Pinkie Fields on January 10, 1938 in the Crims Chapel Community of Henderson, Texas. She was the fourth child of eight children. At a young age Willie Mae joined Greater Hopewell Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Dixie Rural High School.

On May 28, 1956 she married Ophel Caldwell and to this union 3 children were born.
She was a faithful member at her church working in many areas of the church, including matron of the Willing Workers Choir, Hopewell Central District as a teacher, member of the Senior choir, Mission #2 Usher Board and President of the Deaconess. She was an active member of the Heriones of Jericho, Star of Bethlehem Court #175.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Ethel Starks, two brothers, Robert and Levon Fields.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 62years, Opehl Caldwell, son Tommy Caldwell; daughters, Beverly J. Caldwell Sparks, Kathryn LaJoyce Caldwell Cooper. Two brothers, Leon Fields and Nathaniel Fields; two sisters, Wynell Starks and Joyce Beavers; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
