The Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association on May 3 named Jennifer Parker the Texas 2018 National Distinguished Principal during a presentation at Purple Heart Elementary School in El Paso. The award is sponsored by Mentoring Minds, a K-12 education publisher founded by Tyler residents Michael and Lisa Lujan.
Parker received a $10,000 check thanks to a donation from Mentoring Minds, which is a longtime TEPSA business partner. Parker will represent Texas at the National Distinguished Principals program sponsored by the National Association of Elementary School Principals in Washington, D.C., in October.
