A LaRue man has died as a result of injuries he sustained in a one-vehicle crash near Coffee City.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to the crash about 8:45 p.m. Monday on Farm-to-Market Road 314, about six miles southwest of Coffee City. 

A preliminary crash investigation indicates Caesar Samuel Smith, 58, was driving west on County Road 4300 in a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado.

Troopers said Smith oversteered to the right, causing the vehicle to cross the roadway and continue off the north side, where it struck a tree and overturned. 

Smith was taken to a Tyler hospital where he later died.
