John Wayne Smith Jr.

Funeral Service for Mr. John Wayne Smith, Jr., 42, Tyler, is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Carter Temple CME Church with Rev. Brian Keith Thomas as Eulogist.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler. Mr. Smith died February 26, 2018.

He was born September 17, 1975 in Tyler, Texas. Mr. Smith attended Peete Elementary, Hogg Middle and Robert E. Lee High School. He was a member of Rock Hill Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir and later Carter Temple C.M.E. Church. He loved football and fishing. He was the owner of Midway Car Wash & Detail Shop.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Janiah Smith.

Survivors include his wife: Stephanie Delois Smith, parents; John Wayne Sr. and Myrtle A. Smith, Flint Tx., 4 sons; Derion, Keelan, Jonathan and Jaden; 2 daughters; Destiny and Chasate; sister: Capri A. Smith Ervin; and 2 grandchildren.

Public viewing will be Friday, March 9, 2018 from 11 am – 6 pm; Visitation will be 6-7 pm at Community Funeral Home of Tyler Chapel.
