The aging brick red building sat at the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 2493 (Old Jacksonville Highway) and Farm-to-Market Road 346. It sits at the same intersection of Craft Corner and the 4-Way Café in Flint.
Carla Clements Bacica watched the building being torn down and took photos of the demolition progress. They were then posted to Facebook.
“As I was standing on the corner watching the whole thing with a tear in my eye, we have to remember that buildings will come and go,” Ms. Bacica said in the post. “It’s the people of Flint that make it special, and if we can instill that sense of community into our children and grandchildren as well as newcomers then we are keeping Flint the way it should be.”
The storefront was demolished to make way for a widening project for Old Jacksonville Highway, Ms. Bacica said.
