Abby Development has broken ground on Auberge of Tyler, a multifamily apartment community near Old Jacksonville Highway and Grande Boulevard in Tyler.

“Auberge comes from a French word for a high-end hotel, which is kind of the feel we wanted,” said Patrick McGee, Associate of Development and Brokerage. “It’s a pretty large project.”

The 234-unit, high-class complex will feature a saltwater pool, a fully stocked fishing pond and cabana lounging areas with flat screen televisions. The clubhouse will have a 24-hour fitness center, yoga studio, indoor/outdoor resident lounge with a party kitchen, a coffee bar and professional business center. It will also feature direct-access and detached garages, landscaped courtyards, a dog park, a fire pit and outdoor grilling stations.

Auberge of Tyler will provide one, two and three-bedroom designs, with granite countertops, wood plank flooring, stainless steel appliance packages, brushed nickel hardware, custom cabinetry, nine-foot ceilings, private outdoor patios and balconies and walk-in closets.

McGee said they plan to open the clubhouse first as a leasing office, to begin accepting leases by early 2019. The rest of the complex and apartments will become available as completed, which he expects to be by the middle of 2019, according to an updated construction schedule.

Rates will depend on the market averages at the time, but he says, “Our goal is to keep the rent range within reason for developments of this type.”

Auberge of Tyler will be adjacent to a 190-acre planned development, spanning both sides of Old Jacksonville Highway. The mixed-use development includes a Brookshire’s FRESH grocery store, two retail centers, the new Tyler ISD Three Lakes Elementary School, office spaces and high-end single family homes.

“It doesn’t back up to or adjoin any single-family subdivisions though,” McGee said. “We chose (the location) for its high traffic and easy access to infrastructure.”

Abby Development is a real estate investment company founded in 1999 in Tyler by current CEO Bryan Clarke. It has since relocated its headquarters to Dallas, and focuses on multi-family and senior housing development and management across the southwestern United States.
