Tyler Junior College basketball goes to 9-0

Six Apaches scored in double figures as Tyler Junior College remained unbeaten with a 120-96 win over El Centro College’s club team on Saturday at Wagstaff Gymnasium.
Micah Thomas led the way with 20 points, followed by Desmond Balentine (18), Cameron Johnson (16), Tajuan Agee (16), Brian Warren (15) and TiAndre Jackson-Young (15).

Steven McDonald Jr. led El Centro with 36 points, while Ricky Horn added 24 and Dem Simons pitched in 23 for the college from Dallas.
In Plano, the TJC Apache Ladies defeated Seminole State (Oklahoma), 79-71.
Both TJC teams open Region XIV play on Wednesday at Wagstaff Gymnasium. The Apache Ladies (5-2) meet Coastal Bend at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Apaches playing Lamar State-Port Arthur at 7:30 p.m.
