City of Tyler receives Community Partner of the Year Award from Tyler ISD

The city of Tyler received the Community Partner of the Year Award from Tyler ISD, during the latter’s annual State of the District luncheon. The award was established in 2014 through a partnership with Tyler ISD and the Tyler Area Business Education Council.

The award is given annually to organizations that provide exceptional and innovative support to Tyler ISD. Previous award winners include: Tyler Junior College, the Mentoring Alliance and Cooperative Teachers Credit Union.

Tyler Mayor Martin Heines accepted the 2017 award on behalf of the city.

“We are proud to receive this recognition,” he said. “Through innovative initiatives, the city of Tyler and Tyler ISD are committed to furthering educational opportunities for our community’s children.”
