TJC’s Doug Wren named national baseball coach of the year for 4th time in a row

Tyler Junior College baseball coach Doug Wren was recently selected as NJCAA Division III ABCA/Diamond National Coach of the Year for a fourth-straight year.
It follows Wren leading the TJC Apaches to a fourth-straight national title.

The National Coaches of the Year are selected in each division from the ABCA/Diamond Regional Coaches of the Year, which were announced on June 29.
Regional and National Coaches of the Year will be honored during the ABCA/Diamond Hall of Fame/Coach of the Year Banquet at the 74th annual ABCA Convention, which will be held Jan. 4-7 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The banquet is set for Jan. 5 at the J.W. Marriott Hotel.
The ABCA, founded in 1945, is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 8,200 members represent all 50 states and 23 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, the association’s annual awards program has grown to include nine divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Division I, II, III, Pacific Association Division and High School.
