Hundreds upon hundreds of families made their way to South Spring Baptist Church on Friday evening for the church’s Family Firework Celebration.
The annual event provides free fun for families around Tyler and features inflatable obstacle courses and bounce houses, food trucks, arts and crafts, live music and more.
“It’s a great family event that the kids love,” Leah Tjoelker said as she watched her daughter Kendall, 5, slide down one of the inflatable slides.
Cindy Heimbaugh was by the Justice League bounce house, joking about the summer heat, but saying that the high temperatures couldn’t stop her from volunteering because she loves working with the children.
Mike Romero and his band from Houston were one of the bands playing Christian worship songs for the crowd.
The evening concluded with a fireworks show over the grassy lawn.
