Hundreds of Tylerites enjoyed two of many Easter egg hunts around town this week.

Tyler Junior College hosted an Eggstravaganza and the Tyler Parks & Recreation Department hosted its 16th annual Twilight Easter Egg Hunt for the community Thursday evening.

Children enjoyed everything from sack races to coloring Easter pictures while snacking on popcorn and cotton candy before searching for the prized eggs on the lawn outside of Tyler Junior College’s Jenkins Hall.

“I just really like having events like these and getting involved with other people because you get to make new friends. I’m having a fun time with my family, too,” 12-year-old Alyssa Rodriguez said while coloring a picture of a bunny in an Easter egg.

Over at Lindsey Park, face painters painted bunny faces on attendees while balloon artists gave away balloon animals to youngsters.

Hundreds of kids made their way from bounce houses and obstacle courses to find Easter eggs, candy bars and stuffed animals on Lindsey Park’s softball field.

The Easter bunny even got a chance to visit families at both events ahead of Easter Sunday.
