District 11-6A soccer play starts Tuesday for John Tyler and Robert E. Lee.

Lee has enjoyed a week off in preparation for the league season with the Lady Raiders at home against Rockwall-Heath and the Red Raiders on the road at Heath High School.

The Lady Raiders and Heath are slated to kick off at 7 p.m. from Red Raider Field at LHS. The boys match is scheduled to kick off at 7:15 p.m. in Rockwall.

The John Tyler boys also have been preparing for their district opener following last week’s 2-1 win over Pine Tree. JT will be at home against Rockwall with a 7:15 p.m. kickoff at JTHS Main Field.

The JT girls begin their league campaign on the road at Rockwall with a 7 p.m. kickoff.

The Lee boys enter league play with a 6-1 record and already with hardware in the trophy case after winning the Rex King Memorial Cup at Keller ISD’s Timber Creek High School in Fort Worth.

The Red Raiders capped non-district play last Tuesday by defeating last year’s 5A semifinalist Kilgore 4-1 at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium.

The Red Raiders face a Heath team that is 3-3-1 thus far. The Hawks have produced wins over the likes of McKinney North and Forney, but are coming into league play off the back of consecutive losses to Mount Pleasant and Sulphur Springs.

REL senior forward Alex Bice is already well on her way to double-digit goals this season in leading the Lady Raiders to a 3-2-1 mark. REL dropped its first two games before responding with three straight wins over Cypress Falls, Conroe Oak Ridge and Jacksonville before battling to a 2-2 draw in its last outing against Lufkin.

The Lady Raiders face a Heath team that is 2-1-1 with wins over Garland Naaman Forest and Royse City while also tying Rowlett.

The Lions (5-1-0) are enjoying a four-game winning streak entering league play. After winning its first two games, JT was stopped by The Woodlands. The Lions responded with victories over Kilgore, Forney and Pine Tree while drawing with Lufkin.

The JT boys face a Rockwall team that is 2-2-3. The Jackets have wins over Lakeview Centennial and Garland interspersed with losses to Royse City and Sulphur Springs, and draws against Lake Highlands, College Station and Dallas W.T. White.

The Lady Lions snapped a five-game winless run last week by earning a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Spring Hill to bring their record to 0-5-1.

JT faces a Rockwall girls team that is 4-1, its lone loss to state power Garland Sachse. The Lady Jackets completed non-district play by defeating A&M Consolidated, 3-1.
