The sacrifices of fallen veterans will be remembered Saturday during a program that will feature wreaths being placed on veterans’ graves at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12053 Texas Highway 64 West.
The cemetery will take place in a national event titled Wreaths Across America and will hold a formal ceremony at 11 a.m. to correspond with the noon event starting time at the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.

This year, the cemetery raised enough funds to place more than 400 remembrance wreaths on the headstones of local heroes laid to rest there.
Event organizers said the gesture is to ensure that the individuals who served to protect the freedoms of the United States are not forgotten.
Following the formal ceremony, the Tyler Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Composite Squadron, the patriotic fourth degree Assembly #3361 of the Knights of Columbus and volunteers from the community will be placing wreaths on the graves.
Those who are interested in volunteering to lay the wreaths on the graves are encouraged to attend the event.
