Trail Creek Farm, 18127 County Road 4108 in Lindale, has opened its gates for the season, offering a Christmas experience for those wanting to safely cut down their own Christmas trees.

“When they pull in the gate, they jump on a wagon that is equipped with power saws, and they ride around the farm and pick their own tree from 11,000 trees on the farm,” owner Judson Weaver said. “There are assistants that will be available to help cut down and load the trees.”

Trail Creek Farm has been open since 1980 and has prepared a crop of real Christmas trees for the 2016 holiday season. Trail Creek also offers activities, including a zip line and mini train rides. The tree farm also includes a gift shop offering Christmas decorations, T-shirts and other items.

“Our gift shop is fully stocked with Christmas gifts and decorations, and we also have a concession stand full of hot dogs, nachos and cider. We have s’mores and everything for a picnic to enjoy on the farm,” Weaver said.

Trail Creek also offers real evergreen wreaths in different shapes and sizes for purchase, and guests can watch their wreaths being made.

In addition to the daily activities, Trail Creek Farm also plans to host visits from Santa on Nov. 27, Dec. 3 and Dec. 4, when families can schedule to have their photos made.

“It’s family-friendly. You can come get a tree or spend the day here,” Weaver said.

The farm will be open until Dec. 23. For information, visit TrailCreekFarmFun.com.
