‘Rescue Me!’ pet adoption event to be held at Tyler Public Library

City of TylerStudents from the University of Texas at Tyler will host an adoption event dedicated to the city of Tyler Animal Shelter from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tyler Public Library, 201 S. College Ave.“We are very excited to be considered for UT Tyler’s event and give our animals a chance to get adopted,” Connie Greer, access librarian at the Tyler Public Library said .During the event, dogs from the Tyler Animal Shelter will be available for adoption. Some will be ready to take home the day of the event, while others will be ready after 24 hours so they can be spayed or neutered prior to going to their new home.Additional dogs will be available for adoption from partnering animal advocacy groups. Each advocacy group may have their own adoption processes applicable for the animals they provide at the event.Tyler Fire and Police Department personnel will be present to enhance the experience of the “Rescue Me!” event. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit with firefighters and officers and have their pictures taken at a photo booth. Scruff McGruff will make an appearance and will be available for pictures as well.
