The city of Lindale turned pink on Friday and Saturday in celebration of Pinktoberfest. The block party served as the official grand openings of The Pink Pistol – country singer and native Miranda Lambert’s boutique – and Love and War in Texas and at The Cannery Lindale.

The event brought together thousands who visited and shopped at the two businesses while also enjoying live music and a variety of other entertainment.

Bev Lambert, Miranda’s mother, said The Pink Pistol has already been attracting road trippers from all over the country since it opened in August. She said the first day of the official grand opening of on Saturday went very well.

“We’ve had a lot of crying,” she said. “A lot of overwhelmed people come in. I think they really appreciate the growth that we’ve experienced moving to The Cannery.”

Tye Phelps, owner of Love and War In Texas, said visitors of the new restaurant and music venue can expect everything Texas.

“Love and War in Texas is Texas food, Texas music and heritage,” he said. “Everything we do is made here, grown here produced here in Texas or influenced by Texans.”

There are 97 menu items at the restaurant, and dishes feature flavors from all over the state. Phelps said he has many plans for the restaurant and music venue, and he envisions Lindale as being the top music destination in the state.

“Lindale is going to be the destination for Texas music – in the whole state and probably the Southwest,” he said. “We will be the best music venue in the Southwest when we’re all said and done here.”

For Rick and Bev Lambert, Saturday marked not only the day of the opening of The Pink Pistol but the day that a Lindale street – Miranda Lambert Way – was named after their daughter.

Lindale Mayor Jeff Daugherty said the honor was a way for the city to show how proud they are of the Miranda.

“It’s our great privilege as a city to be able to honor our native daughter by the naming of Miranda Lambert Way today,” he said. “We certainly want here to know we are proud of her and we’ve shown that by naming a street after her.”
