Mineola tops Brownsboro 63-22

BROWNSBORO -Before a large homecoming crowd, the visiting Mineola Yellow Jackets dominated play to score a 63-22 win over Brownsboro on Friday at Bear Stadium.

In the first quarter, Mineola’s Jeremiah Crawford ran in a 13 yard touchdown. Cameron Sorenson kicked the PAT for a 7-0 Mineola lead.

With 1:50 to go in the quarter, Crawford ran in from 17 yards. Sorenson kicked the PAT for a 14-0 lead.

The second quarter started off with a four-yard blast by Mineola’s Chantz Perkins. The kick put the ‘Jackets up 21-0.

Mineola kept rolling for a 42-0 halftime lead as Crawford (6-yard run), Perkins (16-yard run) and Kourtland Sinches (14-yard run) scored TDs.



In the second half, Perkins scored from 14 yards, Crawford from 67 yards out and Jamichael Brown from 1-yard.

Following an 82 yard kickoff return by Kevon Thompson, Kevion Ross scored on a 2 yard plunge for the Bears. Then Jamal Bell hit Kenneth Woods on a 50-yard TD pass. Saul Williams scored a TD from 3 yards out. Luis Suarez kicked two PATS and Clayton Orr ran in a two-point conversion.

Next week the Bears and the Yellow Jackets will be open. They both will start district play Sept. 30th.
