Hamburgers and hamburger lovers fill downtown Athens Saturday for Uncle Fletch Davis Hamburger Festival

The annual Uncle Fletch Davis Hamburger Festival was held on the courthouse square in downtown Athens Saturday. The festival celebrates Davis, who is claimed to have invented the hamburger and shared it at the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair. Saturday’s event included a hamburger cook-off, musical entertainment, hamburger-themed competitions and vendors.
