Tyler ISD is showing their appreciation for law enforcement through its new “Blue Plate Special” program.

The district is offering a free lunch to all Tyler and Smith County law enforcement officers at any of its campuses. The program runs every school day throughout the year.

The program is designed to show appreciation for law enforcement while also creating personal relationships between students and officers.

“Tyler ISD is a big supporter of law enforcement,” Tyler ISD Police Chief Danny Brown said. “We hope, through this program, area law enforcement officers will interact with our students and positive relationships will form.”

Officers must be in uniform and sign in with the receptionist on each campus.
