Lee runners compete in Denton

ROBERT E. LEE sophomore Haftu Knight finished eighth in the Flower Mound Marcus Cross Country Meet on Saturday at Three Lakes Park in Denton.

DENTON – Haftu Knight, a sophomore at Robert E. Lee High School, finished eighth out of 262 runners at the prestigious Flower Mound Marcus Cross Country Meet held on Saturday at Three Lakes Park.

Knight helped the Red Raiders finish 13th out of 38 teams.



Other Lee runners were: 28, Ian Estrada, 16:24; 30, Matt Anderson, 16:35; 172, Trevor Doke, 17:59; 190, Tye Valdez, 18:13; 200, Simon Gachibi, 18:14; and 238, Trestan Valdez, 18:58.

The Lady Raiders placed 14th out of 35 teams. Mary Claire Neal led Lee by finishing 29th in a time of 19:28.

Other Lady Raider runners were: 38, Sarah Niedrauer, 19:47; 104, Caroline Lofquist, 20:53; 124, Annelise Conaway, 21:08; 174, Maddis Trimble, 22:02; and 189, Summer Dockery, 22:12.

The REL cross country teams will host the annual Tyler Lee Cross Country Classic on Saturday. The meet is set for UT Tyler campus.
