Glass Recreation Center

The Tyler Parks and Recreation Department’s 2016 Fall Movies in the Park series will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24 inside the gym at the Glass Recreation Center, 501 W. 32nd St.

The series ordinarily takes place at the Bergfeld Park Amphitheater but has changed locations because of construction at the park.

Kicking off the fall series is “Woodlawn,” a movie about a gifted high school football player who must learn to embrace his talent and his faith as he battles racial tensions on and off the field.

This film is based on a true story of how love and unity overcame hate and division in early 1970s Birmingham, Alabama.

“Bring your family out to the Glass Recreation Center to share family times,” said Ann Santana, supervisor of the Glass Recreation Center, in a news release. “Don’t forget to bring your snacks, blankets and lawn chairs!”
