ORVIS

HOUSTON, TX – The Big Easy Ranch near Columbus, Texas, has received the Orvis Endorsement for Excellence for its wingshooting operations. The lodge is one of only three Orvis-endorsed lodges in Texas.

Orvis is America’s oldest mail-order outfitter and longest continually-operating fly-fishing business. Orvis-endorsed wingshooting operations, such as Big Easy Ranch are researched, vetted and selected by experts in wingshooting. Orvis-endorsed wingshooting operations include: lodges, grounds, outfitters and guides.

Big Easy Ranch is situated on 1,300 pristinely maintained wooded acres 70 miles from Houston. The Ranch features wingshooting adventures for upland birds and ducks, hunting for trophy whitetail deer, clay shooting and a challenging, 9-hole, par-3 Chet Williams-designed golf course that’s the home course for the Hal Sutton Golf Academy.

Each Orvis-endorsed lodge is vetted personally – and continually – by the Orvis staff, which has traveled and hunted extensively themselves and then provides the research for the ultimate wingshooting adventure for its 60,000 followers.

“The Orvis endorsement just solidifies the fact that Big Easy Ranch brings a one-of-a-kind sporting venue for the ultimate outdoor and upland bird experience,” said Billy Brown, Big Easy founder. “With the golf, Orvis has nothing like Big Easy among its 24 lodges. To paraphrase Hal Sutton’s great quote, Big Easy is ‘The Right Club Today!'”

Sutton is the former PGA champion, winner of 14 PGA Tour titles and Ryder Cup captain, and provides his experience and expertise with executive golfers looking to improve his or her game.
