The dangerous heat continues to soar.

“The heat advisory has been extended until 7 p.m. Thursday,” KYTX CBS19 Meteorologist Ashley Kramlich said. “Even though we will have breezy winds in the afternoon, the heat will still prevail.”

With a high of 97 degrees, the heat index will easily make the temperature feel as if it is closer to 105 to 109 degrees, she said.

“Children and the elderly are the most susceptible to heat, so make sure you’re constantly checking on them.”

Going into the weekend, temperatures will continue to flirt with the triple digit mark.
