FAITH CONFERENCE
A two-night faith conference is scheduled for Thursday and Friday at Bethany Word of Life Tabernacle, 6808 Paluxy Drive, in Tyler. This year’s theme is “Faith Demolishes Worry.” Services are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. both days. The event is free and open to the public. Pastor Terry Borens, of Tyler, is the featured speaker. Christian Women’s Job Corps of Tyler has started enrolling for the fall 2016 class, which will start Sept. 6. All interested participants should call as soon as possible to schedule an interview appointment. The organization provides a free educational program for women in the Tyler community who have a financial need to work. Classes are structured to mirror the workplace environment and to help instill good work habits in the participants. Applicants must have a desire to develop employment skills; be at least 18 years old; have a high school diploma, high school equivalency, a GED or be in the process of obtaining a GED; and have transportation. BASKETBALL CAMP
Holly Brook Baptist Church, 3219 S. Farm-to-Market Road 2869, in Hawkins, will host a co-ed basketball camp for students ages 7 through 12 from 9 a.m. to noon July 25 to 28. The cost is $10 per student. Sports Ministry Outreach will direct the camp and will teach fundamentals of ball handling and shooting as well as basic offensive and defensive strategies. MEN’S CONFERENCE
The Man Makers Conference is set for July 29 and 30 at Central Baptist Church, 1343 E. Grande Blvd., in Tyler. The event will feature speakers who are gifted at communicating specifically to men in hopes of making a difference in their lives. Breakout sessions will cover topics such as family, faith sharing, finances and friendship. Speakers include Ed Trinkle, lead pastor at Canyon Creek Church in Richardson, and Phil Hopper, lead pastor at Abundant Life Church in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. KID’S CRUSADE
Christ Community Church, 5625 North Loop 256, in Palestine will have its Kid’s Crusade July 29 to 31. All ages are invited, including adults. Nursery will be provided for children, ages 6 weeks to 3 years. The event is free, but an offering will be received in each service. Pastor Mike Muzzerall and a team from Jimmy Swaggart Ministries in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is the scheduled guest speaker. Service Times are 6:30 p.m. July 29; 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. July 30; and 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. July 31. A hot dog lunch and outdoor activities will follow the July 30 morning service.
