- The Society for Creative Anachronism gives a battle demonstration at the 2016 Tyler Celtic Festival.
Men and women in Celtic attire including kilts and tartans gathered on the grounds of the Goodman Museum, 624 N. Broadway Ave. in Tyler Saturday for the Tyler Celtic Fest.
The festival was the brainchild of George Jones, owner of Tours of Tyler. Jones whose Celtic ancestry includes Scottish and Irish, said that many vendors and sponsors were interested in being a part of the first time event.

Celtic Fest featured battle demonstrations from Society for Creative Anachronism, Celtic storytelling, games and other entertainment, including Scottish tunes performed by Tyler bagpiper Paul Watson.
“We haven’t had much Celtic representation in awhile, so this festival is exciting,” Watson said.
The event was sponsored by Tours of Tyler, Events by Darcey, the Goodman Museum, the Breeze, Astronet Radio, Pink Pitbull Productions and the Center for Affordable Prosthetics.
