Tyler Paper Outdoors/texasalloutdoors.com is booking reservations to bass fish at Mexico’s El Salto in 2017
Working in conjunction with Ron Speed Jr.’s Adventures, the trips will be for four days fishing. The El Salto trip will be Jan. 16-21 during the early stages of the spawn. The trip to Picachos will be April 10-15 in effort to time it with shad spawn.
Cost for fishing with lodging and meals on Salto is $1,795. There are 15 slots available for that trip. The cost for Picachos is $1,895. There are 10 slots open for that trip.
Other costs will include roundtrip airfare to and from D/FW, ground transportation, a night’s stay in Mazatlan and gratuities.
El Salto is located about two hours from Mazatlan. The lake is known for its quality fishery.

Lake Picachos is about an hour’s drive east from the Mazatlan.
Airline regulations can make carrying rods difficult so Speed provides rods at the lodge for the fishermen, however, some prefer to bring their own. Fishermen should bring a variety of soft plastics, crankbaits, spinners and their other favorite lures as baits are not available at either lake.
Fishermen must bring their own reels and spare line. Because of the submerged brush 17-pound test line is the minimum and 20-pound flurocarbon is recommended.
Lodges at both lakes are comfortably equipped and air conditioned. Meals are freshly cooked and excellent quality.
To reserve a spot for either trip a 50 percent non-refundable payment must made by June 30. The remainder must be paid by Dec. 1 for Salto and Jan. 1 for Picachos.

Speed also has slots for smaller groups for three or four trips to Salto in January or February. Those trips can also be booked by contacting Tyler Paper Outdoors/texasalloutdoors.com
