TATUM (KYTX) – A Tatum Independent School District teacher has resigned after allegations surfaced of an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Tatum ISD Superintendent Dee Hartt confirmed that the school investigation is complete and has been turned over to the Tatum police department and the Texas Education Agency for further investigation.

Tatum ISD released this statement on its Facebook page:

“On Tuesday of this week, TISD accepted the resignation of a teacher while under investigation of inappropriate relationship with a student. The district contacted the parents of involved students, the Tatum Police Department, the State Board of Educator Certification and the TISD Board of Trustees to provide the facts identified during the investigation.”
