Students from Bullard High School’s floral design and marketing programs worked together to make and deliver floral arrangements, balloons and stuffed animals to the students of Bullard school campuses in observance of Valentine’s Day.

Parents were able to order in advance any display, ranging from one flower to a full floral bouquet of roses and mixed flowers. Helium balloons and small stuffed animals were options as well.

The marketing classes were responsible for advertising the program as well as the actual sales of the products. The floral design classes worked all week to create hundreds of bouquets and arrangements to be delivered Friday to students in their classrooms.

The Valentine’s Sale program is an education-based fundraiser which provides a small amount of revenue to the two departments, but most of the funds are used to purchase the products used in the arrangements.

“This is a great experience for our students, because it not only teaches the kids real world applications of what we’re learning in our classrooms everyday, but they see how demanding a busy day in a floral shop truly is,” Charlotte Main, floral design teacher, said. “Any opportunity we can use to give students hands-on experience is beneficial to overall learning.”
