1. Grub Burger Bar to celebrate grand opening with giveaways

Texas-based restaurant chain Grub Burger Bar will open a new location in Tyler on Tues., Feb. 19, at 6421 S. Broadway Ave., Suite 130, near the intersection of Broadway and Grande Avenue. The fast-casual venue has not officially announced its Tyler menu yet, but Regional Manager Ronan McCaffrey said Grub is known for its made-from-scratch hamburgers.

“We grind our own proteins in-house every day,” McCaffrey said. “We bake our own buns. We’re part of the better burger segment, and it’s chef-driven cuisine.”

He says Grub has just finished hiring its managerial staff, but will soon need about 60 part-time employees to work as bartenders, cashiers, servers and cooks. He estimated average starting pay at approximately $10 per hour. He also said there will be a number of promotions leading up to opening day, and early VIP access the day before.
