With less than a week to go until Halloween, there’s still plenty of time to pick up that perfect pumpkin or two to help set the seasonal theme.
First Christian Church is one of several locales with its annual pumpkin patch set up and open to the public. Business was much slower than anticipated over the past weekend, said the Rev. Ginger Brandt, associate minister of the church. Usually, the weekend before Halloween would bring in several thousand dollars, but heavy rains brought sales to a virtual standstill with only around $200 in the coffers by the end of the weekend, the Rev. Brandt said.
