Robert E. Lee returned home after its first three district games were on the road and was looking to even its record and regain momentum after falling in a sweep to Sachse on Friday, but Garland had other ideas.

The visiting Lady Owls swept the Lady Raiders, 25-21, 25-15, 25-22 Tuesday at Varsity Gymnasium.

Lee swept Garland in both of their meetings last year and pushed out to a big lead in Game 1 Tuesday before the Owls rallied back. Garland built on that momentum to win the next two for the victory, evening its 11-6A record to 2-2.

“Last week I felt like we had made so much progress and tonight we didn’t bring that same momentum with us,” REL coach Ronda Shirley said of the loss.

“We just weren’t staying consistent with our passing and couldn’t get points in a row because we had too many errors.”
