Earl Campbell visited the recently opened Rotolo’s Pizzeria Tuesday, helping to unveil new menu items the feature his very own Earl Campbell sausage, made in Waeider.

“It’s always been a dream of my father’s for many years to incorporate his sausages on many things outside of just being in a grocery store on a shelf,” Early Campbell’s son, Tyler Campbell, said. “The partnership with Rotolo’s actually started over a year ago and it’s very exciting to see it coming together.”

Tyler Campbell is the sellsman for Earl Campbell Meat Products.

Earl Campbell’s sausage has been incorporated into a Rotolo’s pizza called the “Tyler Rose” and in a sausage sandwich, a pasta dish and a calzone.

“If it’s good and does well, we are going to make it based in other Rotolo’s stores,” Earl Campbell said. “The people here in Tyler, we want to see how well they like it. I myself think it tastes great, and if it does well, it will go into about 30 other stores.”

A crowd turned out to try the new Earl Campbell-inspired menu items starting about 11 a.m., and Rotolo’s employees handed out free soda and drinks, along with the newest pizza, calzone and pasta items for free.
