Students at Pupil School 22 in Staten Island, New York surprised their teacher Adriana Lopez with a special song after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

It’s a custom of the school for the choir to sing a song at the end of every year, but since Mrs. Lopez has been battling with breast cancer, the students only had one person in mind when they chose their performance. Singing “I’m gonna Love You Through It”, the heartfelt setiment from every student is plain to see; one which is clearly too much for Adriana, who understandably is taken aback. Choir director Gregg Breinburg led the chorus of the Martina McBride song about love in the darkest times.
