The former Bullard High School and LSU standout has been called up by the New York Yankees.
The prized pitching prospect’s fast-track to the majors will be complete on Monday.
Rumbelow will be in uniform when the Yankees meet the Philadelphia Phillies at Yankee Stadium on Monday.
The Yankees made a handful of roster moves on Sunday, most notably placing outfielder Mason Williams on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. Williams becomes the third Yankees outfielder on the DL, along with Jacoby Ellsbury and Slade Heathcott.
To fill Williams’ hole in the outfield, the Yankees called up Ramon Flores from Triple-AScranton/Wilkes-Barre. Flores went 0-for-2 in Sunday’s 12-4 loss to the Tigers.
The team also called up Danny Burawa, who made his Major League debut Sunday then was optioned back down to Triple-A along with left-handed pitcher Jose De Paula.

Yankees right-hander Sergio Santos is going to have season-ending Tommy John surgery, and left-hander Jacob Lindgren is set to have a bone spur removed from his elbow.
The Yankees made the announcement about Santos two days after the oft-injured reliever was placed on the disabled list with elbow inflammation.
Lindgren, taken in the second round in the 2014 draft and made his big league debut May 25, was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on June 13. The Yankees tweeted that the rehab and recovery period should be no more than 12 weeks.
