The University of Texas at Tyler graduate student Colby Craddock, of Tyler, was awarded a $5,000 Myrna D. Schlegel Scholarship.
Craddock earned a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology from UT Tyler and is currently a graduate student.
Myrna and Robert Schlegel established the scholarship endowment in 1998 through the Alzheimer’s Association to recognize and support undergraduate and graduate students seeking degrees in research and/or treating and caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
Craddock will graduate with a master of science degree in December 2016. He hopes to pursue doctoral studies in his research area.
He currently is president of the UT Tyler Health and Kinesiology Club. Craddock also works as a graduate research assistant with Dr. Benjamin Tseng, UT Tyler assistant professor and director of the university’s Laboratory of Brain Aging and Neuromotor Behavior.
