Items from countries including Ethiopia, Uganda, Nepal, Cambodia, Thailand and Guatemala will be available for purchase.
Sales proceeds will go toward providing people in those countries with food, water, education and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, according to an event news release.
Participating ministries include: Project Ethiopia, Parental Care Ministries, Trades of Hope, By Tavi, Adera!, Moss Florist, Grounds for Justice/Refuge of Light, Young Life “Karama,” All Good Things, Street Smart Defender and Narimon.
Complimentary coffee and sweets from around the world will be available as well.
Sylvania Pastor Phillip Dancy is enthusiastic about the event’s potential benefit.
“It is a rare opportunity to combine a fun day of shopping with support for such a significant mission work,” he said, according to the news release. “At the Fair Trade Market, you get to do both.”

Event coordinator Barbara Huggins said the church’s women’s council wanted to plan an event that would draw in the community and promote a broader view of the world.
“Hopefully this will be (not only) a win for … those ministries who stand to benefit, but (also) a win for the people in those countries where they have those ministries,” Ms. Huggins said.
