Brookhaven rallies by Apaches

No. 6 Brookhaven College rallied for three runs in the ninth inning to take a 7-4 win over No. 1 Tyler Junior College on Wednesday at Mike Carter Field.
The Bears took a 4-1 lead before the Apaches rallied for a run in the seventh and two in the eighth to knot the game at 4-4.
However, Brookhaven pushed across the deciding runs in the final frame. Jason Nicholson two-out bases-clearing double put the Bears ahead.
TJC tied the game in the bottom of the eighth thanks to singles by Jared Pauley and Zane Otten and an error by the Bears.
Gunnar Quick had a homer for the Apaches, while Brandon Webb had an RBI single.
For the Bears, Trevor Ahim had a triple and home run for three RBIs. Byron Brooks was 3 for 4 with an RBI.
The Apaches (25-8) return to the diamond on Saturday, hosting Dallas Christian JV in a doubleheader at Mike Carter Field. The first game is scheduled to begin at noon.
The Bears (23-10) travel to Mesquite to play Eastfield College at 2 p.m. Friday.
