Edom Civic Theatre presents awards

Edom Civic Theatre recently celebrated its season with an awards banquet at Willow Brook Country Club in Tyler.
Presented with the theater’s Edey awards were Lloyd Smith, best actor; Mary Ann Garrett and Linda Parker-Rollins, best supporting actress; Mac Walling, best newcomer; Leta Lantrip, best musician; and Mary Scott, best director, said a news release from the theater.
Receiving awards for work in “Red Velvet Cake War” directed by Lee Shults were Jennifer Wood, best actress; Eddie Pirtle, best supporting actor; Jim Morgan, best minor role male; Frances Whiteside, best minor role female; and Gracie Harmon, best youth actor.
Receiving awards for “Ledge, Ledger and the Legend” directed by Robert Viana were Richard Thompson, best minor role by a male; and Myrna and James McGehee and Sherry Parker, best supporters.
ECT will begin its 2015 season with “It’s Rex’s Exes” directed by Lee Shults on March 27 and 28. The season will include “Just Desserts” in June and “Sanders Family Christmas” in November, said information from the the theater.
The theater’s officers are Mary Scott, president; Eddie Pirtle, vice president; Robert Viana, secretary/treasurer; James McGehee, Sherry Parker and Lee Shults, all trustees; and Linda Parker-Rollins, Mary Ann Garrett and Lloyd Smith, all board members.
