Robert E. Lee senior Garrett Thibodeaux averaged nearly a double-double per game for the Red Raiders in helping to lead REL back to the postseason after a two-year absence.

His efforts and those of senior Isjuwan Barker were recognized by the coaches from District 11-6A in placing both on the All-District 11-6A boys basketball team.

Thibodeaux, who signed with Air Force, was chosen to the first team with Barker, a junior, placed on the second team.

Earning honorable mention from Lee were senior guard Rico Major and junior guard Jordan Berry.

Rowlett and Rockwall garnered most of the superlative honors. Rowlett senior Michael Kolawale was chosen MVP, with Eagles junior Oliver Powell tabbed Defensive Player of the Year. Lakeview Centennial sophomore Zhaire Smith was named Newcomer of the Yea,r with Centennial coach J.T. Locklear named Coach of the Year.

Rockwall did not make the playoffs, but that not dissuade the district from choosing Rockwall guard Austin Grandstaff, an Ohio State signee, as Offensive Player of the Year.
