Mother of Quitman toddlers indicted on 2 counts of capital murder

(KMOO via KYTX) – The mother charged with murder in the homicide deaths of her two toddler daughters has been indicted.
According to Wood County Judicial records, Daphne Elizabeth McDaniels was indicted February 11 on two counts of Capital Murder of Person Under 10 Years of Age.

An arraignment hearing for McDaniels has been set for March 2, at 11 a.m. in the 402nd Judicial District Court of Judge Timothy Boswell.

Autopsy results ruled the death’s homicide by blunt force injuries to the head. McDaniels was arrested and charged with two counts of Murder on November 17, 2014.
McDaniels’ boyfriend, Thomas “T.J.” Liles has also been indicted. Liles was initially charged with Tampering with Evidence after throwing drug paraphernalia into a dumpster the day the girls were found dead.
Liles was later charged, and indicted February 11, on two counts of Injury to a Child. An arraignment hearing has been set for Liles March 2, in District Court.
McDaniels’ neighbor, Dalton German, remains in the Wood County on two counts of Injury to a Child in relation to the case.
