Tyler Urgent Care announced the addition of Dr. Jeff Leach to its staff of full-time physicians and the promotion of registered nurse Cindy Myrick to operations manager.
Leach was born in Maryland and received his bachelor’s degree from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. He received his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center and completed his residency at UT Health Northeast in Tyler in 2003. Prior to joining Tyler Urgent Care, he practiced emergency medicine for 11 years in Tyler.

Ms. Myrick has worked at Tyler Urgent Care for seven years. She earned her BSN at Abilene Christian University. Her new responsibilities will include multiple administrative duties in addition to her current role as charge nurse.

Beverly Abell will be the speaker at the Tyler Young Professionals Network Lunch & Learn 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce building, Genecov Room, 315 N. Broadway Ave. She will talk about the growth and gaining momentum of the revitalization of downtown Tyler that includes flourishing new businesses, historic preservation tax credit launch and a new downtown logo. Sherri McElyea will be the speaker at the January meeting of the National Association Federal Employees. She is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and has 25 years experience in the financial services industry. She serves as president of United Credit Union and has been employed there for 24 years. She is an advocate for credit unions and the services they provide. Ms. McElyea also serves as the vice president of the Tyler Area Chapter of Credit Unions.
