Man, 29, sought in fatal shooting

Tyler police are searching for a man they say shot and killed a 30-year-old Tyler man early Sunday morning on North Palace Avenue.

Det. Andy Erbaugh, acting spokesman for the Tyler Police Department, said Katyron Jermaine Barrett , AKA, Jema i n e ” M a i n e ” Hartsfield, 29, of Tyler, is wanted for the shooting death of Brandon Deroyce Gray on a warrant, in which bond is set at $500,000.



Erbaugh said officers were dispatched to 1714 N. Palace Ave., The Wild Bunch Club in reference to a suspicious noise/gunshots call about 3 a.m. A few minutes later, Trinity Mother Frances called advising that they had a gunshot victim. Officers later confirmed that the victim was shot near the night club where shots were heard, according to a police press release.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case or who knows Barrett’s location to contact police at 903-531-1000 or Tyler/Smith County Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF. Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against suspects in felony cases.
