The site is along Lake Tawakoni.
At approximately 4:52 a.m., the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a possible cardiac arrest at Holiday Marina on Lake Tawakoni. Due to the caller being hysterical, very little information was able to be acquired prior to Champion EMS and law enforcement arrival. Upon arrival of first responders, it was determined that the victim, a 54-year-old man, was found deceased in the recreational vehicle.
First responders reported that there had been a fire inside the recreational vehicle. Fire Marshal Chuck Allen and Deputy Fire Marshal Danny Wilson were summoned to the scene. It was determined that the fire originated in the rear of the RV near a oxygen concentrator. There appeared to have been a small explosion inside the trailer. The fire self-extinguished itself.
The name of the man has not yet been released. The Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation. The victim reportedly stayed alone at Holiday Marina in the RV.
