Leverett’s Chapel gets past King’s Academy, 65-31

The Leverett’s Chapel Lions defeated the King’s Academy Knights 65-31 on Friday at All Saints’ Mewbourne Field.
The Lions (3-1) rushed for 299 yards, with Keaton Vaughan leading with 14 carries for 174 yards. Colby Shaw carried the ball eight times for 97 yards.

The Knights (2-2) had 68 yards on the ground with Ronnie Cox caring the ball 14 times for only 37 yards.
The Lions had 132 yards in the air with Paco Chavez going 3 for 4 for 63 yards. Koy Burks had 81 receiving yards.
The Knights went for 170 yards in the air.
The Lions defense tonight was led by David Warner with 10 unassisted tackles and one fumble recovery. Blake Myrick also had 10 assisted tackles and four unassisted tackles.
