The restaurant is marking its anniversary today through Thursday by giving away food, beverages and memorabilia.
“The restaurant prides itself in fantastic food and friendly service, but realizes you do not last 30 years in any industry without a loyal customer base,” representatives said in a statement. “In order to honor this loyalty, Clear Springs will be offering 30 percent discount off of all fried catfish platters and the little buddy (catfish and shrimp platter).”
Customers also can like Clear Springs’ Facebook post or sign up for its email club at www.clearspringscafe.com for chances to win prizes and other discounts.
The original Clear Springs restaurant is housed in a building that was refurbished from an old saloon/grocery where locals and out-of-towners came to dance. There also are locations in Tyler, Midland, San Antonio and Nacogdoches.
The restaurant is known for its large portions of food, such as the piled high Texas onion rings, fried catfish and shrimp, hand cut steaks and burgers. Clear Springs has been family owned for 30 years and each restaurant is decorated with antiques and rustic design.
The business gives back to the community by working with churches and charities. They have hosted crawfish boils to raise money for breast cancer research and donated items to schools, little league/high school teams, churches and businesses for raffles and auctions.
