Contreras rushes for 150 to help Harmony top Hawkins 29-8

HARMONY — Eric Contreras ran for 150 yards and two touchdowns to power Harmony past Hawkins 29-8 on Friday night.
Contreras opened the scoring with an 11-yard burst midway through the first. He added an 18-yard score in the waning minutes of the third quarter.
Hawkins took an 8-7 lead on a 1-yard run by Cole Harwell followed by a two-point conversion run from Jason Hawes late in the first quarter. Harwell finished with a team-high 72 yards on 15 carries.
But Harmony’s punter averaged 47.5 yards on four punts, including pins at the Hawkins 2 and 3 on kicks of 50 and 52, respectively. One of those punts set up a safety at the end of the first quarter.
Caleb Hart added to Harmony’s special teams superiority with a 33-yard punt return for a touchdown at the end of the first half.
Bryce Palmer completed the scoring for Harmony midway through the fourth on a 1-yard run.
