Last week, a Granite Division crew installed a 1,600-pound, three-piece Crema Marfil Marble altar for Wellspring Spirituality Center’s Chapel. The one-of-a-kind piece took seven weeks to build and five men to deliver.

PRODUCT: The company offers more than 100 colors and a variety of stones, including Granite, Marble, Travertine, Soapstone and Onyx. Granite Division can do countertops, back splashes, tub surrounds and flooring for the home or commercial building, as well as Travertine, Onyx, Copper, and Marble specialty sinks.

Last week, the business installed a 1,600-pound, three-piece Crema Marfil Marble altar for Wellspring Spirituality Center’s Chapel. The one-of-a-kind piece took seven weeks to build and five men to deliver, according to a post on the company’s Facebook page.

The company’s granite composes the Spence Fountain on The University of Texas at Tyler campus, the Smith County Peace Officer’s Memorial at the T.B. Butler Fountain Plaza and the bishop’s chair, called a cathedra, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

The business oversees everything from the importing to the installation of the products. Its team travels the globe searching for granite and natural stone resources, importing much of its materials from Italy and Brazil. They also import from India, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Norway, Finland and Turkey to suit any design application, according to according to  www.graniteloc.com .



Granite Division created a new product for home and commercial use, called GraniteLoc™,” which is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Granite Division Inc. GraniteLoc uses granite and natural stone tiles that are fused together during production. The patent-pending process uses color-matched poly-resins to resist stains. Customers receive a beautifully finished surface at a fraction of the cost of traditional stone slabs, the website states.

BACKGROUND: David McCall founded the company in 1998 to take advantage of what he saw as a growing granite market expanding down from the traditional high-end user, according to earlier reports. Clay Clemmer joined the business a year later.
