Mother Frances joins Texas Care Alliance

 

Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics officials announced recently they joined the expanded Texas Care Alliance (TCA), a group of nine hospital systems throughout the state.

In March 2013, the TCA was created as a central organization to build expertise in population health management, capitalize on economies of scale, and accelerate the rapid adoption of clinical and operational best practices.

The group aims to help community hospitals and health care systems improve the patient experience of care, improve population health, and reduce the per capita cost of health care.

TCA first paired Baylor Scott & White and Mother Frances. The alliance now includes Community Hospital Corp. in Plano, Good Shepherd Health System in Longview, Hendrick Health System in Abilene, Medical Center Health System in Odessa, Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, Shannon Health System in San Angelo and Wichita Falls’ United Regional Health Care System.

The collaboration covers 193 Texas counties and 20 percent of the state’s registered hospital beds. The 6,800 employed or affiliated physicians will have access to a database of metrics housed in the platform known as Explorys.

“To be ideally positioned to offer the best care for our patients, the changes in health care will require investment in new technologies and information systems to maximize the health of communities across the state, including East Texas,” said Lindsey Bradley, president of Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics. “TCA provides an incredible range of opportunity for health care systems to share learning and to leverage a common platform, which will get us to a point of health management excellence faster and more completely.”

 

 

Mother Frances partners with Good Shepherd

 

Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics, Good Shepherd Medical Center and Champion EMS have begun Flight For Life medical air transportation service.

Trinity Mother Frances’ new, instrument-rated EC-145 helicopter will be stationed at the East Texas Regional Airport in Longview.

Primarily serving Gregg and Harrison counties, the hospital’s third aircraft may be used to transport critically ill and injured patients in surrounding areas. The coverage area for Flight For Life will expand to roughly 100,000 square miles.

The Flight For Life program was developed by Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in December 1985. Flight For Life provides patients from isolated rural medical facilities and EMS agencies to access Good Shepherd Medical Center and Mother Frances Hospital.
