The Texas Department of Transportation will be working on roadways in its eight county district this week.

Those counties include Smith, Gregg, Cherokee, Anderson, Wood, Van Zandt, Henderson and Rusk.

Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress and flaggers will control traffic at each work zone.

SMITH COUNTY

Crews will resurface Farm-to-Market Road 756 west of Whitehouse between Farm-to-Market Road 346 and Maji Road.

Once that work is complete, crews will do similar work on Farm-to-Market Road 2813 between Tall Timbers Road and U.S. Highway 69, and on Farm-to-Market Road 346 between Highway 69 and Farm-to-Market Road 2964 (Rhone’s Quarter Road) near Whitehouse.

Crews also will be building a crossover on Texas Highway 31 near the River Bridge between Farm-to-Market Road 2661 and Chandler.

ANDERSON COUNTY

Crews will finish base and pavement repairs on U.S. Highway 287 between Elkhart and the Houston County line, then move midweek to do the same work on Texas Highway 294 between Farm-to-Market Road 323 and Farm-to-Market Road 228 near the Cherokee County line. 

CHEROKEE COUNTY

Crews will do shoulder and edge work on Texas Highway 204 between Loop 456 in Jacksonville and Texas Highway 110 in Ponta. 

GREGG COUNTY

TxDOT will make base and pavement repairs on the U.S. Highway 259 Kilgore Bypass between Farm-to-Market Road 349 east of Kilgore and the south end of the bypass.

A second crew will resurface Farm-to-Market Road 2276 between Farm-to-Market Road 2204 in Gregg County and Farm-to-Market Road 850 in Rusk County. 

HENDERSON COUNTY

Crews will resurface various spots of Farm-to-Market Road 1615 between Texas Highway 19 south of Athens and the end of state maintenance.

A second crew will finish resurfacing Farm-to-Market Road 59 in Athens between Texas Highway 19 and Loop 7. 

RUSK COUNTY

TxDOT will resurface Farm-to-Market Road 95 between Farm-to-Market Road 1798 in Minden and Texas Highway 315 northeast of Mount Enterprise.

VAN ZANDT COUNTY

Crews will resurface various spots on Texas Highway 198 between Farm-to-Market Road 1651 and the Kaufman County line.

WOOD COUNTY

Crews will resurface Farm-to-Market Road 514 west of Yantis.

A second crew will do base and pavement repairs on Texas Highway 37 between Quitman and Winnsboro.
