BROWNSBORO — Madison Timmerman mowed down 14 batters in seven innings as Brownsboro blanked Canton 7-0 in the District 15-3A opener on Tuesday. The Bearettes had 10 hits, led by Shelbie Bagby (3 for 3, two doubles, two RBIs) and Kaitlyn Wariner (home run, two RBIs).
Van 16, Mabank 1
MABANK — The Van Lady Vandals hammered Mabank for six extra-base hits, highlighted by a three-run homer from Kylee Moore to win 16-1 Tuesday in their District 15-3A opener. Van’s Autumn McKinney surrendered one run on two hits to get the win. The Lady Vandals are back on the diamond Wednesday against Canton. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Van High School.

MINEOLA — Tino Elias had three hits and Seth Hudgins drove in two runs as Mineola rallied for a 5-4 win over Wills Point on Tuesday in a non-district baseball game. The Yellowjackets (7-6-1) scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh for the victory. Garrett Woods led off with a walk and scored to tie the game at 4-4 on Elias’ double to deep center.
Riley Anderson then bunted and on the throw to first there was a collision between Anderson and the Tigers’ first baseman, allowing Elias came around to score the winning run. Hudgins had two hits as well.

Brook Hill 12, Brownsboro 3
BULLARD — Seth Brasher led a 16-hit attack for the Bullard Brook Hill Guard in a 12-3 win over Brownsboro Tuesday afternoon at Herrington Ball Park. Brasher finished 4 for 4 in the game with two runs scored and three RBIs. His speed accounted for two infield singles and his double spearheaded a five-run sixth inning for the Guard.
Clayton Engel took the win on the mound, allowing three runs while scattering 10 Bears with two walks and five strikeouts. The right hander Engel also aided his cause going 3 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
The Bears made a run at the Guard in the fifth inning. However, with one run that sliced Brook Hill’s lead to 3-2 and the bases loaded with still one out, Engel induced a ground ball to shortstop Jonah Gonzales which began a 6-4-3 double play.
Brownsboro’s Cory Davis finished 2 for 3 with two doubles and two runs scored in the loss. Toby Davis had an RBI double with teammate Tanner Wilson driving in one with a single.
Jacksonville native Blake Maddox was 1 for 2 with two walks and scored three runs while Jace Kuechle and Chase Moore also finished 1 for 2 with a run scored.
The Guard (7-6) will travel to play Dallas Christian at 2 p.m. Thursday Brownsboro will be at home Wednesday against Lindale.
